Decided to replace the front wheels after we had two failures of the Goped wheels that we were using - the plastic hubs shattered.

Bought a couple of Aluminium hubbed, ball raced wheels from RS partno 201-2774.

wheel2.jpg (15409 bytes)Put them in the lathe and removed most of the rubber and lost a bit of spare ally on the hubs. Got them down to about 700g each. Still a fair bit heavier than the Goped wheels, but hopefully a lot tougher. Made up a 20mm hollow ally axle for them.
